Guys, don't leave after this week. Stick around talk about Finals DT, and the $100* (will be halved if we can't get to 200 people) prize up for grabs. And, just talk footy. Also, I'm planning to having a very exciting SuperCoach competition planned for the Grand Final and there will be plenty of great prizes. Just got to talk to Walesy about that one first.
Also, an reminder if you want to help us in the off-season, leave a comment or pop me an email - braydog@live.com.au.
Thank you.
I will join up the Finals DT now the real stuff has finished. Braydog, I am willing to give you guys a hand next year. I can give you the news happening out of Sth Aust if you like.

Thanks, Steve, well chuck us your username for the forum and Walesy will put you in the Staff forum and I will hook you up with blog thing next year.
It's been a shame that Nath, Sizza and VQ left me to do all the blogging myself in the last 8 rounds or so.

I could help with the contribution on the team and what selections I'm making - a bit like VQ before his team took the gas!
Another comp my mates want to run next year - if you're interested you can join is called the "Merrett Cup"
You score what your players score but the aim is to get the lowest score.
The catch is all zeroes count for 100 points.
Therefore you are looking for players who play every week and get under 50 points. Daniel Merrett is the classic example of this sort of useless hack player, hence the name of the comp. Birss from St Kilda is another good option.
This "reverse SC" team competition would test the best minds as we trade down guys like Cyril Rioli into Dawes at the end of the year.
The only thing we were unsure of was to force people to use the salary cap but we thought the 100 points per zero was good enough penalty.
I think you'd only do your own league and because I've checked the rules of the SC only allows you to win any prizemoney if you only enter one team, we'd have to administer the lot ourselves with good old Excel spreadsheets.
But I think the Merrett Cup has a lot going for it; whatdya reckon?

Lucas mate, I would love you on board. You obviously know ya stuff.
Loving the Merret Cup, maybe we could program to run something on here, the only problem with that might be the rights to the Champion Data stats. But, you can always use the excuse its me Dads or Brothers team. Haha.
But, mate I will do some research on it in the offseason. If not, yeah, we can just do it fully through SuperCoach.

Steve and Lucas, it would be great to get you guys on board for next year.
You obviously know your stuff. :)
The Merret cup, that does sounds like fun, I'm sure we can get something worked out to make it run on TS. :)
We might need to have a little discussion over the off-season to work out the nuts as bolts of the scoring (As Bray mentioned, Champion Data numbers might be illegal to run a comp off... DT numbers would be fine though...)

If the Merrett Cup is run for nothing but pride I would hope Champion Data will be fine. But yeah DT would be OK with it I'm sure.
Surely the more use of the Champion Data figures in the marketplace the more widespread the acceptance the better market cred for Champion Data, and the greater chance the Herald Sun (and nonVic variants) will keep them and Supercoach in their paper.
I also think they should definitely on-sell the data for live feeds as that would make so many sites that much better - not that AFL Game Day is half bad.
I can understand the exclusivity of the live market is important so even just on-selling end of match data for analysis and low-key competition purposes (<= $500 major prize for example) could be a small, new revenue stream for Champion Data. Or you could offer to advertise their logo on the site...
If you're reading this Ted Hopkins come on join the fun.
